- Description
- 1939, six disk Victor Album set P10-1 of “African Music Rhythm Of The Jungle, Vol.1” recorded by Laura C. Boulton. A 12 page pamphlet inscribed to “Dr. Kroeber” and signed by “Laura C. Boulton” accompanies the album set. Note: I purchased the set in the SF Bay Area, where I lived for many years and I believe that the inscription is to the renowned anthropologist, Dr. Alfred Louis Kroeber of the University of Cal. At Berkeley, famous for his work with Ishi, the last known member of the Yahi people. I presume that this set was his own personal copy. Condition: First 2 records, mostly E to E- and the other 4, E to E+. Records play fine, though some light surface noise. Generally nice clean copies aside from a bit of light scuffing and light scratch or two, especially first couple of records. Album cover in generally good condition though a bit loose and appears to have been taped along seams of inside covers. Area of tearing along top of front cover and some staining on back cover. The first and last pages of the pamphlet have become detached and some toning and bit of staining and another tear or two here and there.
