Description
Robert Johnson's "hit" from 1936, this copy has seen better days. The good news is that "Kind Hearted Woman" (take 1) would be E- if not for numerous scratches which add noise, especially in the second half of the record. Other than that, the music comes through clear with a 3.3-mil stylus, no peak distortion.  "Terraplane," the hit side, is a mess - lots of wear and stripped grooves, and about a dozen digs in the first half of the side, several of which cause the stylus to skip over a groove, but can be made to play through with some effort. That side was played on a windup many times after the digs happened, because in several instances playing the groove that is skipped over reveals a nearly unworn groove. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection.
