Description
Although titled "MinnieThe Moocher" on the label, this is actually Cab's wonderful musical tribute to the great film soundtrack composer and conductor Alfred Newman, preformed by Cab Calloway and his Orchestra to the tune of Minnie The Moocher. The lyrics of this unique recording are literally a biographical sketch of Alfred Newman's life and career.  Flip side is "Nearer To You". No doubt, a very rare transcription done for the 1943 movie, Stormy Weather, although the Minnie The Moocher side was certainly never intended for use in the movie or popular release. This transcription would certainly be an important addition to any collections of jazz or film historians. Condition: V++: Plays fine but a little bit of pop/crackle here and there.
