| Description |
This collection includes the first recordings made by Lloyd Price for Specialty Records in 1952/53, and features all of the Specialty hits. The Billboard R&B chart success dried up for Price in early 1953, and due to his three year Army service, he failed to secure another hit until "Just Because" on ABC Paramount in 1957, but from his astonishingly influential debut with "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" (#1 for seven weeks in 1952) until early 1953, he hit the Top Ten a further four times with "Oooh-Oooh-Oooh" (#4), "Restless Heart" (#5), "Ain't It A Shame?" (#4) and "Tell Me Pretty Baby" (#8) (All songs featured on this CD). |
