Eddie Condon was a fine guitarist and an exuberant, wisecracking emcee, but perhaps his greatest talent was the ability to assemble groups of talented musicians into creative combinations whose output was greater than the sum of their parts. Hanging out in New York in the mid 40s, Condon helped gather a variety of jazzs leading lights to cut the Jam Session series for the World Transcription Service. For the first time ever, this release compiles the entire Jam Session output of Condon and two of his closest pals, the great trumpeters Wild Bill Davison and Max Kaminsky.
