| Description |
Karl & Harty were boyhood fiends who, in later years, developed a close harmony vocal act, accompanying themselves on mandolin and guitar, respectively.
They began their professional careers at the end of the 1920s, when gentle and melodic Victorian parlour ballads were still in vogue throughout the rural areas of the United States. It was neighbor Doc Hopkins who encouraged the boys to take their music seriously and play for profit as well as pleasure.
The Karl & Harty act lasted until 1951, when they finally called it a day. These recording date from 1931 to 1945. |
